I have stumbled upon this wiki page (https://wiki.lyx.org/Examples/Springer) that explains how to use LyX for writing books and journal articles for Springer. - All download links pointing to Springer's FTP server are broken. The server seems to no longer exist. - The link in the OSX section is broken as well. The FTP links are for downloading Springer LaTeX classes, I suggest replacing them for this one (https://www.springernature.com/gp/authors/campaigns/latex-author-support). From there one can navigate to the desired LaTeX classes, although the Jounal class seems to have been superseded by "sn-jnl.cls" and is no longer available.
