It offers you a truly posix environment. IMHO it is technically superior and let you use both the lyxpipe and lyxsocket interfaces. It works with both native and cygwin applications. It can also take advantage of the native Windows facilities (e.g., the auto open/edit feature). In a word, it is better ;-) -- Enrico
