You cannot simply change the format number and expect that the file
contents will magically adapt.
I think that is your problem: change it back to 245, and your chinese
should go away. Then get Jose' to give you a lesson how lyx2lyx works ;-)
Short form of the lyx2lyx tutorial: If you want to update a file
manually, call lyx2lyx by hand.
Ah... that's my problem then, I thought LyX would call lyx2lyx
automatically...

No, I've reverted to 245. Maybe my problem is that lyx doesn't call the
right lyx2lyx version... I am launching lyx from the scons build tree.
I will try to install it and open the file again. Thanks.
