Last year I arrived to Porto coming from Azores, when in the plain I saw some forest fires and the respective smoke columns. It is difficult to describe the feeling. On the other hand some of those pictures are difficult to fake due to the Reynolds number, that is why you can distinguish the different scales involved. Usually we can identify if a (small scale) model was used when we see a scene with a damn breaking up from a real event because the water behaves differently in a first order approximation...
