This meta-package installs LyX common files, the frontend (Qt or XForms)
and other packages needed by LyX.
lyx-common_1.4.1-1.lyx.org.1_i386.dapper.deb
Version: 1.4.1-1.lyx.org.1
This package provides common files not dependent on the frontend version.
lyx-qt_1.4.1-1.lyx.org.1_i386.dapper.deb
Version: 1.4.1-1.lyx.org.1
This package provides Lyx with Qt frontend.
There is much more information, but that is just stuff like
"LyX is . . ." and the package dependencies.
According to info inside the deb files, the version is indeed 1.4.1
I did not unpack and run the executables to verify this.
