today is a happy day (at least to me :-)
I have committed support for lyx2lyx to support all files made with lyx
starting from lyx-0.6, the first public available lyx versions in 1995.
As an example I attached this example of a letter, made by Matthias,
that we
have distributed until 0.10.7.
lyx2lyx arrived finally to the goal that I have set in 2002, if lyx
wrote it
lyx (through lyx2lyx) should read it.
I expect the code to have bugs, but the major support is there, and it
is
working for everyfiles I have tested. Although if you notice carefully the
last character is missing fro this letter. It should not be difficult to fix
(famous last words:).
At the same time I am starting to add unit testing support to the
different
modules used in lyx2lyx. The purpose is the use of automated testing to
guarantee that future changes to lyx2lyx do not break the convertion of
already working files.
