This energy would be better used by removing the console and redirecting the output in some file.
I am not 100% sure but it seems to me that even if lyx itself can get rid of the console window, many of the scripts lyx calls need it. A console window will be created whenever such a script is called and we will see a lot of flashing consoles. Bo
