Compiled with gcc-4.1, LyX frequently crashes when images or preview-latex are
involved. There are several bug reports which seem to be caused by that:

http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2662
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2677
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2684

Some other bugs seem to have disappeared in the meantime:

http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2414
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2494

From the above 3 open bugs, I have seen all once, but the only one which is
100% reproducible for me is 2677. Please have a look at the report for a text
document, a description and backtraces.

Apart from that, LyX crashes every now and then for me, when I toggle a figure
float (bug 2662). Unfortuantely, I never had gdb running and I didn't found a
way yet to reproduce it.

In bug 2414, I wrote:

I think the problem is somewhere in FileMonitor.C or GraphicsCache.C, which
uses boost signals.
There have been compilation issues with gcc-4.1 in these files[1], which have
apparently been resolved, but probably not in the right way?

I'm not sure if this statement is correct, and I can't remember exactly how I
came to this suspicion, but maybe the information is useful nevertheless.
