Unfortunately, they do not seem to agree on whether having a prefered toolkit is a good idea or not. Given that LyX's text rendering is done in the kernel and Lars (G.B.) does not want any Qt in the kernel we are not likely to see any of Qt4's RTL rendering - even when using the Qt 4 frontend.
