The current consensus is that interpretation b) is correct. Qt 3 and GNU Emacs 21 will use interpretation b), changing the behavior of previous versions. So, even emacs changes. I think someone can check emacs 21 and check the new shortcuts. It is nice that we have a stack of copied contents. Is this supposed to be the multiple clipboard feature as that in M$ Word? Has this even been working properly? This might be a nice feature,, but what is in word has only troubled me so I will not regret if it is removed from lyx. A minor name suggestion, since no one is using SECONDARY selection, PRIMARY_SELECTION_PASTE is not really necessary. Can we change it to SELECTION_PASTE?

This does not work with other applications, but can it work within lyx?
- Enable the external clipboard to store LyX contents
And remove internal clipboard stack.
- Merge the external and internal clipboard and get rid of LFUN_CLIPBOARD_PASTE again (probably by simply using the external clipboard as the top position of the stack)
