When I add a feature I wanna do it for one front end, and not for one more. Ever heard about "lowest common denominator"? When you use more front ends you could only support these features which are supported by all frontends (e.g. dockable toolbars: possible with Qt4 but lyx doesn't support it). I think it totally slows down the development progress. And nothing is more boring than using obsolete tools. (You could force developers to do so only when they get your money, but in a open source project this does not work.) The most time of my last patch I've spend in adding the Qt3 part, and I think this time could have been better invested. I have no idea why most people here think it is a good idea to support more than one frontend when there is one which fits all needs.
