I wouldn't use a lyxrc. I would add a combo to the tabular create dialog,
where you can select, and save the selection (like the crossref dialog does,
for instance).
Ah wait, the qt4 frontend doesn't have a tabular create dialog anymore ...
That's bad, I'd like it to be selectable for every new tabular.
No, a default behavior doesn't need any choice. That's very bad UI wise.
But you could configure in the Preference dialog _your_ default behavior
to your will of course. If, in a special case you want to modify _your_
default settings, just for this particular table, launch the full blown
table dialog (which is still available contrarily to what you say).
