The fix to the tutorial is straightforward, but the same should be
done in the userguide.
You're right the german userguide is also broken. This is now bug 2660:

Nevertheless the fix for the tutorial should go in.
For equation.xpm, the file has to be moved to lib/images/math and the
Makefile.am has to be adapted.
Could you do this please.
