The instant preview python scripts (lib/scripts) use them but they don't need to anymore. I introduced them to stop a console window popping up when invoking the ghostscript. Someone pointed me towards gs_c which doesn't pop up a console window, so the code could scrap the use of the Windows extensions. Angus
