Hello,
This is to announce that I am going to continue my
WorkArea/Clipbard/Screen Reorganisation effort in a branch. I have put
my current tree in the branch and I have already committed some fix from
Georg. The crash on exit should be gone now.
The plan is as follow:
1) introduce a new BaseFrontend class that will become _the_ official
interface to the frontend.
2) put in minimal support for all frontends (qt4 is mostly done already)
3) further cleanup other frontends:
3.a) WorkArea/Clipboard separation: done in qt4
3.b) possibly WorkArea/Screen unification: done in qt4
...
4) Add support for X11 Selection and Clipboard differentiation, a
preliminar patch is already available from Georg Baum.
I will take care of 1 and 2 but I will need help on 3 and 4.
Edwin, if you plan to work on clipboard stuff, could you please do that
in my branch?
