It is not only a rumor but fact. On Windows the gpled version of qt works
only with mingw.
This is not true. Qt4 is GPL and the QtWin team is maintaining an
unofficial patch to Qt4 that makes it compile with VC++ 2003 and 2005 as
well as Borland C++.
AFAIK many (most?) in the Win Kde4 porting team are using VC++.
