Dear list members,

If it is not too hard, I would really appreciate if someone could fix the following enhancement to LyX: In the Math Panel, under the Symbols list: Frame Decorations, I would like to have the possibility to use the \overset and \underset commands.
See: http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2533

Since I have no knowledge of C++, I have no possibility to do this myself, but this function would be really useful for me.

Andre Poenitz suggested a work-around, by inserting

\bind "M-m 1" "math-insert \underset"
\bind "M-m 2" "math-insert \overset"

in math.bind. Although this suggestion works it has some drawbacks, since I can not mark one or several terms and then add the underset/overset, as is possible with e.g. the \underbrace and \overbrace buttons. Instead I have to add the underset/overset command first and then write the terms. Also, for new users of LyX, it would be useful to have buttons for this in the Math Panel, and don't have to mess around with the math.bind file.

Since Andre Poenitz do not have time to add similar buttons as for \underbrace and \overbrace also for \overset and \underset in the Math Panel, hopefully someone else have time.

I would really appreciate if it would be possible for anyone to implement this, hopefully to version 1.4.2 of LyX, or otherwise as soon as possible.

Kind regards,
Andreas
