           Still crashes for me when I try to load a file.
This time the file dialog appears and the crash happens when I try
           to change directory. Backtrace attached.

The backtrace does not help much I am afraid. Could you try to install it in d:\program and >test again?

   I don't have a d: partition, and it should not matter.

Who knows, maybe something is hard-coded to my installation path prefix (d:\program\lyx-svn). I >remember Joost and Uwe reporting a bug about the selecting a file at the root of c:\ in 1.4.x. >Maybe those are related.

   I am able to
   load files using the "Help" and "File->Open recent" menus. Indeed, I
   am able to load a file inserting by hand its path in the session file
   and then using "File->Open recent".

   I do not understand why it works for you and does not for me.
   It must be a WinXP vs Win2k issue.

Maybe, but Persio Barros has tested it with success on WinMe. Could you test again Persio?

Abdel.

Abdel,

Sorry for the delay. Today is sunday and wright now I'm cooking a feijoada. And drinking some cachaça, of couse ;-).

I got your last version of LyX-1.5. This one asks for the zlib1.dll, unlike the previous one. Got the dll, and now it runs. Tried to load a .lyx file: works. Math expressions: works. Eps pictures: works. View dvi: works.

More tests?

Persio
