SWP has a non-free TeX system that can deal with Windows GDI data (WMF is just GDI is a file). It probably converts that to Postscript.
The common method to convert WMF/GDI to Postscript is to use a Generic Postscript Printer. OLETeX is a nice tool to automate this task.
