This is indeed possible, although I can continue to be stable
maintainer if people want me to. I think the two jobs are a bit
different.

And you retain overall power as project leader, right?

OK, now that I think about it, what you propose is to delegate the
administrative part of releases. This makes sense.

Unicode has to go forward anyway. I'd think that 1.5 now would not
make sense (since qt4 and gtk are not ready). When they are ready,
we'll see how far the unicode work has gone.It may be that the LyX
meeting is what we need to get unicode going.
