So, the lyxrc.defult is OK after initial configuration, then what do you see in the preference dialog, do you see auto? If you do see auto, and the menu item is not set correctly, then this is something I have to address. My guess is that the menu thing is processed *before* the correct format (auto) are loaded. Bo
