In the menus, right?
Menus and dialogs. (In Preferences dialog, I get "R'esolution DPI"
and "Tr`es petit", for example; similar for other languages.)
Can you show me how locales look like on your
system? Here I have
fantomas: locale -a |grep fr_FR
fr_FR
fr_FR.ISO-8859-1
fr_FR.ISO-8859-15
fr_FR.UTF-8
I have the same. (I've been accessing other languages by doing
"export LANG=FR_fr" and running LyX from the same terminal session.
That produces the same effect as what users are told to do to change
the GUI language by setting LANG in ~/.MacOS/environment.plist and
then starting LyX normally.)
And fr_FR is actually fr_FR.ISO-8859-15.
Not sure about this.

Do you have LYX_LOCALEDIR set, by chance?
No.
