I've hoped that it would be more heated... like it should be for a

Regarding cygwin: Right now there are 4 cygwin-related patches that are
not part of 1.4.X. Abdel, Enrico, I am pretty sure that Jean-Marc will
consider them if you provide good reasons. At least two of them look
rather trivial.
Or if it is too much work to backport, I would suggest Enrico to stay on
the bleeding edge. Unless there's a pressing need from users that is.
But it seems to me that cygwin users are pretty happy with Enrico
LyX-cygwin-1.4.1 package, aren't they Enrico?
Please, no more frustration! From a distance, the way LyX evolves isn't
that bad.
