I started using LyX for Windows version 1.3.7 earlier today. After some
initial setup difficulties with aspell (I guess LyX wanted it in
c:\aspell ... or my system was just retarded from previous installations
of similar program using similar packages), I got it working and am
enjoying it. One of the Wiki pages
(http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/ProsAndCons) intimates that LyX can be
installed on a USB drive, but I see no other references to engaging in
that process and one entry I found through google

seems to indicate that it is impossible. I was just wondering whether
it was possible, and if so, how to do it.

Over on the user list, Sam Lewis reported (in message
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) that it works
for him, with the exception of spell-checking (because the path
C:\Aspell is hard-coded in the Windows version). He didn't give details
as to how he set it up.
