Seems that your "timely" manner is completely different from ours.

Be prepared to loose commit privileges then.

You should try intensively hard to get someone to look at your patch,
and if after a lot of kicking and yelling you find that no one is
interested, then you should realized that this patch should not be
applied either. (This has never been the case to my knowledge).

So, please send patches to the list, demand a review, demand it again,
but do not go off on your own and just commit stuff.

It is not about testing is is about reading and understanding the
patch and what problem it tries to solve, or the feature it want to be
implemented.
