Maybe Linux window managers have some logic to position windows nicely, but it is common for all Windows applications to remember their previous window positions.

Since Windows make no attempt to handle this itself, I think there should be such a feature for Windows users. It is also what they expect an application to do.

It could also be useful for users of other window managers that like to setup a certain workspace for using LyX with the main window, math panel, TOC and other windows in nice positions relative to each other.

So there should probably be an option to enable or disable this feature, but I think that having it available will increase usability a lot, especially on the Windows platform.
