Hum, have you compiled Qt4 yourself or did you use a precompiled
package? I remember you said you manage to get an executable once,
didn't you?
Compiled myself, with ./configure -static.
There might be some options as "--with-included-libpng" or something. I
don't know enough about Mac, sorry. You should maybe try to use the
precompiled package from TrollTech.
(Do you mean a LyX executable? -- No, I've never gotten that far.)

ls /Users/bennett/lyx/gcc-3.3/qt-mac-opensource-src-4.1.1/lib
Here it is; I've copied *.la into the bak/ directory.
AFAIS, everythings needed is there.
