I tested only wrt that bug (2394). I couldn't get LyX crashing with your fix applied. However, I didn't test other cases that might be relevant wrt to the original bug (2380). (I feared that LyX could still crash because you set the ViewCache inside insertAsciiString, which is not always used by pasteselection. But in fact, it doesn't) Jürgen
