I have just created the branch for 1.4.x. I decided to not be clever
with naming and just followed the naming scheme we have used earlier.

Note that this means that main trunk is now open for work. But I would
ask you to be very conservative about what you do until we have 1.4.0
properly released. We do not need more regressions or hacks. Also all
changes made to the branch must also be merged to trunk (better IMHO
if done the other way. First make the change in trunk, then merge to
branch.)

I'll do some test builds and create a pre6 from the branch, unless
critical stuff is then discovered that will become 1.4.0.
