On Windows a plain --with-version-suffix does not provide a default suffix. I didn't try compiling, but at the end of configure I get: ... Packaging: windows LyX binary dir: C:/Programmi/LyX-1.4.0/bin LyX files dir: C:/Programmi/LyX-1.4.0/Resources/LyX- Using --with-version-suffix=-1.4.0 works. Same problem as that reported by Georg about tex2lyx. -- Enrico
