I'm thinking of trying to compile LyX on Debian testing in a while -
actually, at the earliest in two weeks or so. But when I do try, can I ask
you about what steps I need to take? In return, I promise to document the
steps that are required.
For the moment, testing is okay. The troublesome libxft2 is in
"unstable". If you run into this, the fix is:
apt-get install libxft2=2.1.7-1
