That will not work in all cases (depends on the differences in file format). A better procedure is to request a format update of the file in CVS first and then send a patch against the new file. That will always work. That procedure should also eliminate the whitespace problem if the new file was not only created by lyx2lyx, but also saved in LyX. Georg
