See http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2192. The problem is that images in formats that are not recognized by lyx::support::getFormatFromContent() and have no entry in the format list don't work anymore. I introduced the bug during the graphics/temp dir/converter rework long time ago, and here is the tested and working fix. OK to commit?
