Sorry, but it is still not working. Actually, my problem is not that files or a libraries are not found. The error happens at a later point of the compile process when lyx-gtk is put together. It complains about missing references to `XftFontClose' and such. I guess there is no problem about missing files at all ?! Anyway, thanks for your response Martin
