Please don't do that. I can very well understand the desire to have the new
icons and tex2lyx, but IMO all LyX versions that are called "1.3.6" should
be the same. Otherwise the maintenance burden will become even higher.
If you think that these things are really important, change the version
number in the configure.ac to "1.3.6-uwe1" or something like that, so that
it is easy to tell which version somebody has.
I agree. What we could do is backporting tex2lyx to 1.3.7cvs. (Provided
that it is really already better than reLyX) Then Uwe could call his
version 1.3.7cvs and everybody is happy.
reLyX relies on Perl, whereas tex2lyx does not. Moreover, Bo Peng has
written a Python-based configure script for 1.4.0. Which packages are
needed after all, Uwe?
