Support for equationarray

Will 1.4.0 support the equationarray environment?  If not, is it 
possible to add it through LFUN calls (i.e., without modifying the 
source code and recompiling LyX)?  What I'm looking for is an array-like 
input widget (basically, eqnarray with array's cability to add columns 
and set column alignment).
