I'm afraid you don't have Python 2.4. You have something that is impersonating
Python 2.4. I expect that it is the stripped down version of Python that was
packaged by Ruurd and shipped with LyX 1.3.3. Please throw it away and get
the real Python 2.4 from www.python.org
