There are no alternative menus for italian right now, but it would not
be difficult to add them All it takes is to provide a it_menus.bind
file.

Which brings us back to your point about needing to know what the
Italian users consider to be the right shortcut to "Modifica" (and, I
think, how they prefer to access math mode via key bindings). Since my
knowledge of Italian is limited to hand gestures, I'm no help there.
