Hello,

I tried to patch the sources on lyx-1.4.0pre1.tar.gz from the /devel
directory on the mirrors, unsuccesfully... This far, I've been able to
browse thru the cvs repository using your cgi on the wiki, and I
installed succesfully wincvs.

So I tried to configure and run the old source on my mingw installation
on win98, anyway, just to check if the thing worked in the first place.
The thing failed. It complained about a missing suitable python
interpreter (not distributed with mingw).

At this point I'm tired, frustrated, and angry. Shall be back to this
on Monday, after some restful real work on medieval philosophy (?).

Occurs to me to try to compile tex2lyx on cygwin. It's far more
reliable than barebones mingw.

Cheers,

Luis
