Dear Developers,

Many thanks for your efforts to produce the first official LyX for Windows, LyX 1.3.6

I found the following bug:

Suppose there is a master document with documents embedded in it with "include".

When one tries "update dvi" from the master document, the program appears to be working but finally the dvi file shown by Yap will not change. During work the program shows that it executes a python command to produce "tmpfile.out".

If, however one changes the master document in a special way the dvi file will be really updated. These special changes may be: a change of a paragraph from author to standard, a change of an included object to inputted one etc. A simple change in the wording (retype) is not enough. When the master document is appropriately changed and the dvi update works, one cannot see the message reporting the creation of "tmpfile.out" during work.

I remark that this bug is not new, it was already present in the LyX 1.3.5 for Windows. I have found its report and the above workaround on the internet before. This bug is fortunately absent from the LyX 1.3.5 for Linux.

It would be important to fix this bug among the first ones. The reason is that LyX is usually used for writing long documents, even entire books. In these cases the embedded documents are inevitable so this bug may be irritating for many. Some people who are new to LyX may even reject it and turn to other word processors because of such a basic problem. Of course, I understand that your time is finite while the number of the requests is apparently infinite.

Many thanks in advance for your help.
