Well, I a subsequent message I decided to give up with the patch. It gives ugly results with LyX/Mac anyway, and I do not know how to fix it. This code is really wicked. As of now, what would seem the most reasonable would be to leverage the .cdef information to guess the right accent when possible. And of course, we would keep the old ugly code when it does not work. This can be done at tex2lyx and/or InsetLatexAccent level.
