I put a prerelease distribution of lyx 1.3.6 at ftp://ftp.devel.lyx.org/pub/lyx/snapshot/lyx-1.3.6cvs.tar.gz ftp://ftp.devel.lyx.org/pub/lyx/snapshot/patch-1.3.6cvs.gz I think all the open problems are fixed. I added the patch to change the user directory to LyX on windows and OSX (I will change PACKAGE in 1.4.X). I added the skeleton provided by Bennett, with some changes of my own. Bennett, please double check that you can build. You will need to update your build instructions too.
Jean-Marc -LyX builds, installs, and runs just fine (from the included LyX/Mac skeleton). A few comments:
1. In the skeleton, I notice that we have LyX.app/Resources/LyX. When I configure, I get the following:
Packaging: macosxLyX binary dir: /Users/bennett/Desktop/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS LyX files dir: /Users/bennett/Desktop/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/lyx
(Note the difference in capitalization of "lyx" in LyX.app/Contents/Resources/lyx.) This doesn't matter on HFS+ volumes (which are case insensitive), but it does matter on UFS volumes. Should the skeleton have LyX.app/Resources/lyx instead?
2. In the skeleton, I have made an adjustment to LyX.app/Contents/Resources/LyX/preferences changing \serverpipe to point to the new location of the users directory. (See attached file.)
3. Given that the LyX.app skeleton is now included in the source rather than a separate download, I've revised the Install.MacOSX directions accordingly. (See attached file.)
4. With the renamed user's directory (from "lyx" to "LyX"), I've changed the installer script accordingly. (See attached file.) Again, I'd appreciate comments on this script.
5. In the NEWS file, it says "Unix and MacOSX users should consider this to be a bugfix release." Didn't we add an lfun for switching between documents to 1.3.6? (I don't remember it being around in 1.3.5, but then I don't have an old version handy to test....)
