Addendum With my patches, inverse search with xdvi will work automatically once lyx is reconfigured. To use it, click on xdvi with the left mouse button while pressing control.
To configure kdvi, execute it, then goto Settings->DVI Options->DVI Specials, select "User-Defined Editor" and put lyxclient -g %f %l in the "Shell command" box. To use it, click on kdvi with the middle mouse button. I also have dvi direct search (that is, when view dvi is called, xdvi or kdvi appear at the page that contains the text in lyx workarea) working here, but as the patch intersects with my previous ones I will submit it after my previous ones get discussed.
