Hmm, I just want to do that but as I understand JMarc the problem is that to implement this the ouput of every LyX component (Mathed, Tabular, etc.) have to be changed. But I don't know how LyX produces the LaTeX output. Possibly it is independent from the components, then ignore my comment.
