 MAJOR ISSUE: The layout styles (title, author, section, subsection,
 etc.) are no longer shown in the pull-down menu on the left of the LyX
 window; it is blank now.

I did some testing during the weekend. AFAICS, the layout box is not linked 
correctly internally, i.e., method layout() gives a null pointer although it 
shouldn't. I also encountered a couple of crashes when I opened the document 
settings. IMHO this indicates some kind of memory corruption. (Any news 
regarding valgrind?)

Since I am quite sure that the bug did not exist a few weeks ago, I would 
like to check an older version of LyX and then apply the latest patches step 
by step. What is the best way to do this with CVS?
