Basically that Angus has been doing a lot of work that he is not
himself using the result of.
Sure Angus is doing this willingly, and I am sure he has learned a lot
from it as well.
but it adds to maintenance burdon, so unless the win community will
keep this code (installer + win specific code) up to date, it will
grow stale. And if that happens we are probably better off with just
dropping support for the unmaintained feature.
but let's see how everything works out.
