Installation of 1.3.6 (Release 7) on a Win2000 system (without
administrator privileges) went smoothly:
Msys and Python24 were installed easily. Ghostscript, Image Magic,
MikTex etc were found correctly.
(For some unaccountable reason Msys grabbed and refuses to give up the
MatLab icon???)
Lyx installed / uninstalled (release 6) smoothly.
Your efforts much appreciated. The whole process took two minutes plus
Msys & Python etc installation = ten minutes
Some minor and noncritical run problems (probably user errors)
1. Instant preview did not work until after user directory and temp
directories were changed from installation
defaults to pre-existing lyx project directories using Edit-
preferences dialog.
2. DirtyDVI & DVI and PDF (pdflatex) and intext eps figures display
correctly with yap and Acrord32 but
PDF reports "Cannot convert file" "Error while executing " "
dvips -t a4 -o "file.ps" "tmpfile.out" "
PDF (dvipdfm) " Cannot convert file" "Error while executing " "
dvipdfm -p a4 "tmpfile.out" "
Postscript " Cannot convert file" "Error while executing
" " dvips -t a4 -o "file.ps" "tmpfile.out" "
all these work on the same Lyx file under Lyxwin 135.
