What should be done if possible is to check whether there is an association for .pdf files. In this case, "start" (with appropriate options) should be used as a viewer. Actually, it may be possible to do that on win 2k/xp from a shell script. Does NSIS offer support for querying such things? Another solution would be to have code in LyX packaging to do this kind of things (and for MacOSX too). JMarc
