So your changes that alter this are "wrong".
 

Before, ellipses have been used in an inconsistent way; the ellipses 
neither followed the GNOME _nor_ Jean-Marc's rule! How was I supposed to 
know? Right now, ellipses are used consistently. So the changes are at 
least a "wrong" improvement :-) I will wait for more comments before I 
start changing everything again (grrr)...

This isn't appropriate for 1.4. I would, however, suggest not putting as
much effort into cleaning up classic.ui, beyond fixing the macros to
actually work.
 

That means we do not consider classic.ui as a serious alternative. Which 
again raises the question why we have it at all...
