Angus, I am currently writing a short document with complete instructions on how to get a statically linked LyX with MinGW. After a couple of months struggling with the shortcomings of MinGW and the peculiarities of the Windows platform, I think I have finally found a satisfying way to generate LyX. I will post the recipe to the mailing list tomorrow.
In a moment of clear thinking, I tried to force the linker to load the qt libraries statically.
Grrrrrrrr.
Try two.
... back again. The bloody error dialog popped up again, warning me that it couldn't find qt3.dll.
I have NO idea where the linker is getting info about qt3.dll. Frankly, I no longer care. Windows is just evil.
